hi, i was introduced to this great site by cooperhawk. my husband and i just purchased a 1979 excella motorhome and are so excited about getting it ready to use. it needs some tlc, but basically it is in good shape. we knew there was work to be done, but, of course it was much more involved than we figured. it will be a labor of love. i'm sure we will have many more questions and updates. thanks to all, especially cooperhawk for telling me about this site! |
|
| I don't have any solution, but I certainly admire the problem. |

Welcome aboard! There is an Airstream dealer not far from you that has Classic Motorhomes from time to time - Parkview RV. My 345 was originally sold by them back in 86. A little further north there is another one - Colonial Airstream. I know both of these dealers occasionally get older rigs in on trade.
Also, PPL Motorhomes in TX ususaly has a few on the lot. The 280 TD is a very nice rig, but hard to come by. Keep us posted on how the search goes. As far as your question about how to get it home, thats easy - you drive it!

OH so THAT's what the engine is for!! Seriously, thanks for the warm welcomes. My problem is I can't take off work for the time it would take to do such a LOOOONNNGGG drive from Idaho to my part of Virginia. But you're right, that may be the only way for me to pull this off! |
